11th-12th Grade
Students at Learnwell receive a high-quality college preparatory education. The course of study required for a Learnwell diploma meets or exceeds college prep requirements laid out by the Georgia Board of Regents.
A Learnwell high school diploma goes far beyond traditional high school requirements in areas that reflect our priority to meet this generation of students right where they are. Learnwell students are required to complete far more career exploration, practice with executive functioning skills such as planning and organization, and true ownership of their education than in traditional high school settings.
This is accomplished through Life Skills & Discipleship classes, college counseling, and day-to-day academics throughout high school.

11th Grade
In 11th grade, students are moving from formation to preparation for life after high school. They’ve explored how they learn best, how they’re wired and will continue to develop understanding about what God has called them to do as they pursue a four-week apprenticeship to explore careers that align with their gifts, talents, and interests.
- At this grade level, students will explore together: How does a wise Christ-follower respond and behave in real-world situations?
- Students learn how to put “feet” to the heart and head beliefs they’ve been developing.
- Eleventh graders also begin planning and dreaming about what entrepreneurial business or service program they’d like to implement in 12th grade.
- Our Learnwell leadership team will also be meeting with 11th-grade students to help them know how to approach college entrance exams and essays and how they can obtain college course credit through the Dual Enrollment program. All students will have a college-ready transcript whether they decide to pursue higher education or not.
- Students at this grade level may also choose to take AP courses, such as AP Environmental Science, which is taught three days a week (unlike other classes offered two days a week).
- Eleventh graders will work with the 10th-grade class to run a school store cart that will help fund the 12th-grade entrepreneurial business or service.
12th Grade
The overall goal for 12th grade is that students are launch-ready by the time they graduate. Whether they choose to pursue a college education or work, a Learnwell education sets students up to:
- Have an authentic faith that equips them to rely on God’s leadership to care well for themselves, others, and the world around them.
- Be formed in self-management/life skills so they can be successful in whatever is next for them.
- Have a solid understanding of who God is, how He has wired them, and what practical tools they can use as they step into the real world to learn well and function well in life and in their career.
- Have started their own service or business – from concept to implementation – before graduating.
- Have a college-ready transcript whether they decide to pursue higher education or not. Our Learnwell leadership team continues to help students shape their post-high school plans, in collaboration with their parents, through college-readiness seminars, counseling and coaching.
Academics
Students receive an official transcript to help them as they begin their post-high school plans for college or career training.
All students will receive counseling to help them in the college application process. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing for the SAT and/or ACT, understanding how Georgia Futures and dual enrollment works, and attending seminars on helpful topics, such as how to write a college entrance essay and practical steps on the college application and scholarship process.
All students have three course format options as they earn credit toward their high school transcript:
Direct Instruction:
a traditional classroom model.
Seminar:
where students meet weekly with a teacher to discuss what he/she is learning independently.
Independent Study:
which must be pre-approved by Learnwell in order to receive credit. Our academic leadership team will ensure that the independent study meets the objectives for course credit to be earned.
Owning their Education
At Learnwell, we offer three distinctives with an emphasis on discipleship, life skills, and entrepreneurship.
The goal of our Discipleship program is for students to grow in their knowledge of and dependence on God.
In Life Skills, we equip students with the skills they need to be successful in whatever is next for them, whether heading to college or into the workforce.
Community
Students develop deep friendships as they take part in Learnwell’s unique Life Skills and Discipleship classes together, learning about how God has wired them and created them for a purpose.
Learnwell provides events and electives geared to high school students.
Because we believe strongly in student ownership, we allow students to inform the community events that encourage community formation. Yearbook, a school worship band, and other clubs have already been implemented or proposed for future implementation.
