Dr. Melissa Shipman

Melissa is the co-founder of Learnwell Collective, and is thrilled to serve as the principal of Learnwell. She is a parent who wants to make the best choices for the education of her children. Along with her husband, Melissa is in the trenches of raising her two tween daughters.

Melissa’s passion is to help parents make intentional decisions as they raise their children, specifically in the area of education.

Why? Because Melissa believes that out of intentional and healthy families come generations of intentional and healthy world-changers. She believes that, as parents, we can spend our time making wise decisions along the way or spend our time fixing problems later.

Melissa served in public and private schools for 13 years as a teacher, guidance counselor, and principal. She has also served as an overseas education consultant for families in foreign countries for 19 years. Melissa has spoken at education conferences in Europe and Asia. She has a B.A. in English from Berry College, an M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Georgia, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Minnesota.
