How the Navigator Program Works
Before the school year even begins, you’re equipped with a complete homeschool curriculum list that’s been selected by our team of educators. We also provide you with additional homeschool resources to help you develop the best schedule for your family.
Every week, you’ll log into your myLearnwell portal, where you’ll find:
The week’s lesson plan for each child’s grade
A short coaching video from the lead teacher of each grade
All of the printable homeschool resources you need for the week
In addition to all of that, we support you with what we call “Parent Professional Development” periodically throughout the year. These are short lessons that equip you better to homeschool your children.
You can reach out to your coach, an experienced teacher, any time! You’ll meet virtually with your coach at least once every six weeks to check in. But if – no, wait a minute – when you hit snags along the way (we all do!), you can reach out to your coach and ask questions and get advice. Maybe one of your children is struggling with a particular concept. Maybe your child needs a little more challenge, or is interested in going deeper when it comes to a particular subject.
No matter what questions you have, it’s great to have a coach who is also an experienced teacher available to you! This homeschool program is designed to partner with parents to help children thrive!
When you decide to homeschool your children, you commit to the day-to-day, week-to-week planning needed as you lead in their education. What if you could homeschool without all of the behind-the-scenes work of curriculum selection and lesson planning?
Learnwell offers you the freedom to homeschool your children without all of the tasks related homeschooling that take hundreds of behind-the-scenes hours. You get the joy of teaching your children and guiding them in their learning, and Learnwell provides you everything you need so that you are set up for success!
Every week, you’ll find easy-to-follow lesson plans in the parent portal. In the lesson plan, your teacher coach provides step-by-step instructions for language arts, math, social studies, and science.
Also in the parent portal, you’ll find a short weekly video from your teacher coach. She or he will walk you through the big picture of what’s coming up in the week to come, and help you set your expectations for what your child will learn that week. Any time throughout the week that you need help, your coach is just an email or video chat away, and is eager to help you problem-solve, find needed additional resources, or encourage you when you need it!
You’ll receive many supplementary resources that you’ll need outside of your curriculum, which you’ll purchase separately to have at home. Additionally, you’ll have access to our REACH curriculum, which provides activities and challenges for you to use with your gifted children OR with children with a high interest in a particular area.
Just like we provide professional development for our Learnwell teachers, we provide professional development for YOU as you homeschool your children. Learnwell has developed a video library on a wide variety of topics, and also provides opportunities for virtual parent chats and book clubs
