This is my first year as a part of the Learnwell team. I graduated from Auburn University with degrees in Molecular Biology and Spanish and started my career as a research scientist. Next, I earned my law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law. As a patent attorney, I practiced at large firms in Atlanta for several years. But when my husband Jason and I were blessed with our daughter, Emmaline, God made it clear to my heart that my role was now at home with her.
As she grew and thrived at home, we decided homeschool life was right for us. When we joined Learnwell in 2020, we were thrilled to find a community whose goals and values aligned so well with what we wanted for our daughter and where her faith in Christ could grow along with her academic experiences.
During my school years, I loved trying new electives, sports, and extracurriculars. That’s why I said yes when Learnwell asked me to join the team as the Director of Extracurricular Activities. These opportunities teach students about being part of a team, help them gain confidence, give them practical skills, and provide a space for creative expression, all with the support of their school, teachers, and classmates. I’m excited about where the future will lead as we add more electives, teams, and other opportunities for our Learnwell Owls to explore!
